Principal's Welcome

Giddens-TP Principal
Welcome to Towne Point Elementary School. At Towne Point, we strive to educate your child in a safe and orderly environment. We believe that a well rounded child will become a more productive and contributing citizen in adulthood. As building principal, I am fully vested in the well being of your child and all children that I serve. I have been in the field of education for 25 years and I still love what I do. I have served as a high school assistant principal, middle school principal and this is my second year as an elementary principal. The vision, instructional focus and core values that I have listed below are what I truly believe to be critical to your child's success.

VISION

Towne Point students will remain actively engaged in the learning process as they acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to become responsible, contributing citizens within the local, state, national, and world community.

Towne Point parents will remain actively involved as advocates for their children and supporters of the school’s expectations, programs, and staff.

Within a nurturing, safe environment, Towne Point staff members will actively engage all students in the learning process and teach all students to become critical thinkers, problem solvers and lifelong learners.

INSTRUCTIONAL FOCUS

Through a school-wide effort, all Towne Point Elementary students will develop, transfer, and apply critical thinking skills in order to effectively communicate appropriate responses. Student growth will be measured by improved scores on the Smarter Balanced, STAR, AR, DIBELS Next and curriculum- based assessments.

 4 CORE VALUES

SAFETY

To have clear and concise expectations that are monitored to ensure the safety and well-being of all students, staff and visitors while in the school, on the playground or on the bus.

INSTRUCTION

To use standards and evidence-based instruction that is fun, engaging, differentiated and collaborative. The instruction will also help foster social skills and have high expectations for all learners.

CULTURE

To establish and maintain positive relationships in order to continuously keep our students, staff, parents and community members engaged and involved in our school.

CLIMATE

To have a supportive and risk-free environment that promotes collaboration, acceptance and trust. There will also be defined cycles of recognition and celebration.
